Who doesn't know the story of the wooden puppet who wanted to become a real boy? But what does it mean to become a real boy? «The Making of Pinocchio», Rosana Cade and Ivor MacAskill explore this question. On a film set, they meet the cricket, the fairy, Gepetto, and the famous whale as the transformation gradually takes place.

But here, everything is different and has a double meaning: the artist couple began developing «The Making of Pinocchio» in 2018 as a response to Ivor MacAskill's own gender transition. In a surprising way, the two combine their experiences with the ambiguous story of the wooden puppet who wants to be a «real boy». The focus of this tender work, which is the product of this metamorphosis, is on shared change. It raises the big question: what happens when the person you love suddenly turns into someone else?
